This is another quick finish - a mobile pouch

 

 

These days we are into exploring different parts of Oman. This weekend it was a trip to  Salalah . During Khareef Season it is more green than usual. And there are few relegious monuments  like  prophet Ayoub Job tomb and the  resting place of Nabi Imran, father of the Virgin Mary.

I was playing with the left over yarn from the granny square throw.....actually i was trying to crochet a baby cap. My gauge size will never come out right....i think i put more pressure on each stitch...so that baby cap became small.....i didn't want to frog it and restart again...so i made it into a small pouch....luckily my bangle box will go into it .....and here is the picture......it is so funny....transformation of baby cap into a jewellery box pouch..:):)...

 

 

 

This is a throw I made for my DH's recliner.....It is made up of 120 granny squares and i took 3 weeks to finish it....I'm happy with the finish . Now i have to do an afghan before christmas to replace this during christmas time....I couldn't find a christmas green colour yarn in Muscat....I hope i can find something during my next trip to Dubai in Sept.

 

 

It was a long weekend this time with a public holiday. So we geard up our camping kit to climb up the mountain Jebel Shams . It was a beautiful drive with good scenary. We stopped the car when its altimeter was showing 2000m.....and looked out for a safe place to put our tent. In the night temperature dropped to 16 degree celcius and it was windy. It was a different experience to camp on the top of the mountain....

Atlast I got a broadband connection. .....now i can access most of the sites  and blogs with lots of pictures...It was very disapointing when i was using dial up it was too slow and i couldn't see any of the pictures in the blog...

 

My inspiration to stitch or crochet mostly come from other creative people's blog....yesterday when i visited Pearlin's blog i saw this fan bookmark...and she had also posted the source of pattern...Thank you pearlin ....straight away i went to crochetroo to get the pattern. That was an amaizing place with tons of beautiful crochet work...I thank her for sharing her pattern to all of us.

 

I could finish this  fan bookmark in very short time.....this is the only varigated thread i have in my collection.......

 

Now I understood that moving out of the country is not an easy task.....It took almost 6 months to settle down. We are now based in Muscat.... still waiting for a Broadband internet connection .

I cannot imagine how i managed to live without communicating with my online friends this long....Hi friends...i'll mail you in person soon....I know most of you will be visiting my blog to see what happened to me...

 

I have kept aside a pattern and fabric and stuff in my cross stich bag...while travelling ...so i could finish that one pattern in 6 months time. that was very helpful for me to unwind my stressfull days. What are you guys upto...i'll soon visit your blogs to see your happenings....For the time being...my finished piece of work.....

This will be my last post for this year. I'm sorry to inform you that i'll not be able to update my blog for some time. We are getting ready for a move....yes you read it  right....we are moving away from Dubai, UAE. I think it will take some time for me to settle in our new place. I'll try to visit and leave comments in  your blogs in between . I will update my blog once i'm settled and back to stitching. Due to packing for the move, i couldn't participate in any exchanges....I hope 2008 will be a great year for me for stitching and exchanges. ..See you all next year....

I arranged the ornaments on a candle stand to take a picture.....

 

How is it...Most of them are going to be gifts...so i'm not putting it on my tree.

 

 

I made 2 more ornaments for christmas.

 

I think this is enough for this year.....

I started to stitch this pattern to make it into an ornament card. When i finished, the design was bigger than the card i have...so i backed it with a piece of felt and make it into an ordinary christmas hanging. not very happy with the finishing....

 

 

I hope to finish few more ornaments before the christmas.....

I made few more variations of the crochet ornament. It is very easy and fast, so i thought i'll make as many as possible as christmas present to family and friends.
