Atlast I got a broadband connection. .....now i can access most of the sites  and blogs with lots of pictures...It was very disapointing when i was using dial up it was too slow and i couldn't see any of the pictures in the blog...

 

My inspiration to stitch or crochet mostly come from other creative people's blog....yesterday when i visited Pearlin's blog i saw this fan bookmark...and she had also posted the source of pattern...Thank you pearlin ....straight away i went to crochetroo to get the pattern. That was an amaizing place with tons of beautiful crochet work...I thank her for sharing her pattern to all of us.

 

I could finish this  fan bookmark in very short time.....this is the only varigated thread i have in my collection.......

 

Now I understood that moving out of the country is not an easy task.....It took almost 6 months to settle down. We are now based in Muscat.... still waiting for a Broadband internet connection .

I cannot imagine how i managed to live without communicating with my online friends this long....Hi friends...i'll mail you in person soon....I know most of you will be visiting my blog to see what happened to me...

 

I have kept aside a pattern and fabric and stuff in my cross stich bag...while travelling ...so i could finish that one pattern in 6 months time. that was very helpful for me to unwind my stressfull days. What are you guys upto...i'll soon visit your blogs to see your happenings....For the time being...my finished piece of work.....

This will be my last post for this year. I'm sorry to inform you that i'll not be able to update my blog for some time. We are getting ready for a move....yes you read it  right....we are moving away from Dubai, UAE. I think it will take some time for me to settle in our new place. I'll try to visit and leave comments in  your blogs in between . I will update my blog once i'm settled and back to stitching. Due to packing for the move, i couldn't participate in any exchanges....I hope 2008 will be a great year for me for stitching and exchanges. ..See you all next year....

How is it...Most of them are going to be gifts...so i'm not putting it on my tree.

 

 

I made 2 more ornaments for christmas.

 

I think this is enough for this year.....

I started to stitch this pattern to make it into an ornament card. When i finished, the design was bigger than the card i have...so i backed it with a piece of felt and make it into an ordinary christmas hanging. not very happy with the finishing....

 

 

I hope to finish few more ornaments before the christmas.....

I made few more variations of the crochet ornament. It is very easy and fast, so i thought i'll make as many as possible as christmas present to family and friends.

I have a great news to announce.....

 

Quilt made with Ellen Maurer-Stroh's mystery baby pattern to raise fund for Save the children project is getting ready for auction. You can see the finished quilt picture in their website.

 

They will soon post more pictures so that everyone can see Ellen's exclusive pattern for this project. I'm so happy that i can see my Ellen's chicken baby sitting there.... I'll post that portion of the quilt...I don't want to post the picture of the whole quilt here, because that credit goes to them exclusively .

 This time it is a Biscornu shape. This is my first trial to make this shape... Annette’s Acre's finishing lessons helped me to finish this ornament. I'm not very happy about the finish. i think it is slightly bulky...."my fault of selecting the fabric and pattern". I have to finish of some of my 14 count fabrics.....so i'm using it to stitch all of my christmas ornaments this year.

 

 As usual i played with Picasa to get a single pic from different view.

Foggy days in november are usually a welcome sign for winter...hope that the hot days of this year are over.

 

I found it interesting when I saw these three pictures together. So i thought i'll share it with you.

 

  

Every december i'll think i'll make atleast 12 ornaments (every month each) by next christmas. But that never worked for me. This year i'm in a mood to make as many christmas ornament as possible before i put up my tree. I don't know how many i can make ....this is my new addition to this years x'mas ornaments....

 

 

This is my first trial of making twisted chord using a DMC 321 and DMC 5283. I was sweating when i finished fixing......hoooooooo....it was slightly confusing for me...the spiral effect....I'm happy with the finish...

wow...she has done a lot of crocheting....it is pulling me more towards doing crochet.....

 

As i promised I have a new cross stitch finish to show you . It is a double sided snowman ornament. I was longing to stitch  this pattern from charles craft  since last year. It was taking so much time because i'm not good with plastic canvas....it is looking cute...right. To show you both the sides together i played with picasa to make a collage.

After finishing the baby blanket , I started to cross stitch a x'mas ornament. Again a crochet pattern caught me and i made a x'mas ornament.

I'm posting the pic below....photo is not very good.....my very first crochet x'mas ornament.

 

 

Getting back to cross stitch. i hope i'll have something to show you in cross stitch soon.

 

 

 

 

It took 4 months since i started this granny square blanket . 2 months is the time i took to crochet ...other 2 months i couldn't do much. For some time no more crochet...it is taking too much time to get a finished piece. I have to finish some christmas stitching by the end of Nov.

 

We went to visit a wadi last weekend. It was a beautiful drive and the weather was pleasent...but the wadi was dry ...we saw a dry dam ( photo in the album- trip to wadi)  first time in our life. Our concept of a dam is Idukki dam in our homeland with full of water 365 days.  But in this desert it is foolish to expect a dam with water.  We are planning to visit other wadis in UAE during this winter. Weather forcast says rain is expected by this weekend and  I hope I can post beautiful photos after our next trip.

 

 

I didn't get much time to stitch after my vacation. Right now i'm crocheting an afghan and it is taking my stitching time. I can crochet at any time when i watch TV or if we are going for a long drive. But cross stitch need more concentration otherwise i'll end up frogging it.

 

We had a nice Eid weekend this time with our friends in Oman. Oman is a place with lots of heritage and country life and it is a relief from the busy daily routine of modern city Dubai. Drive to Oman itself is a beautiful experience with mountains and farm lands on either side of the highway. we saw two men crossing the 6 lane highway with their camels (photos in the album)....I took my crochet bag to crochet during our 5 hrs drive, but the scenic beauty didn't let me crochet.....

 

I have to do few small stitchings for christmas gifts and my to do list is never ending....getting back to stitching....hope to update my blog soon with few of my stitching finishes...

 

I'm back home in Dubai after my 2 months vacation......there was no much stitching during the vacation. I got some time to work on Granny square afghan. I'll post a picture of it once it is finished. I took my cross stitch stuff when i went for vacation, but could not stitch much....did few small motifs ...nothing great to post a picture. 

 

I'm trying to catch up with the missed happenings in my favorite stitching blogs....

 

 

Cas cenina informed me that they got my finished spring chicken baby.

 

 I have added few finishes in my Finishes in 2007 album. This is my first mail art exchange. It is just in the mail yesterday and it will take sometime to reach her.  i have uploaded the pic without disclosing who my partner is. i don't know if she is a frequent visitor to my blog.

 

I have also uplaoaded the pics of Ryan's RR. he didn't get his RR as yet...and i think due to strike in UK Royal Mail , it is going to take more time. Hope that it will reach Ryan safe.

 

I got the new look UK crossstitcher magazine and i liked it at first sight. i'm busy with packing for our trip and didn't get chance to read it or look into it properly. i hope i can read it either in the airport lounge or during our train journey.

 

I'll be flying to india on 23rd night and i don't know if i'll get a chance to update my blog for sometime.
